The Demonic Realm
An excerpt
from "Visions Beyond the Veil" by H.A. Baker
The
headquarters of the evil hosts are in the middle heaven. Here are
thrones from which the devil's angels exercise their satanic rule
over the earth. These rulers of darkness are diverse: some are more
massive than others, there is variation in dress, crowns, facial
expressions, dispositions, and in authority. In every respect they
are as diabolical in appearance and action as the hosts of Satan are
expected to be.
These rulers of evil are in constant
competition with one another. Each resents the authority of those who
have greater power. All are jealous of one another and covet the
places of the highest rank. Those of the highest rank hold their
positions, not by the consent of those in the lower ranks, but solely
by their own superior vehemence and power. Groups and individuals are
constantly quarreling and conflicting with one another.
All
wear crowns representing different classes and ranks. All desire to
sit on the highest thrones and supervise the work of evil on earth,
rather than debase themselves to delegated offices on the lower
thrones.
Those of the highest rank sit on thrones in the
middle heaven. They rule over innumerable hosts of evil spirits from
whom delegations are constantly sent to the earth to deceive its
inhabitants, to oppose the righteous forces, to strengthen places of
weak demonic forces on earth, and to bind and carry the souls of evil
men to hell when they die.
Although these evil angels fly in
the highest heaven to the very gates of the new Jerusalem, and
although they descend to the earth and fly in its air, their center
is in the middle heaven with thrones of authority where they are
gathered in countless numbers. Here some hosts of evil spirits of
various sizes fly hither and thither, while others move more
cautiously. A certain halo surrounds the evil spirits of higher
rank.
All are alike in some respects: All have wings, all have
crowns, all belong to the heavens. The appointed messengers go to
earth only temporarily. When their evil errand is finished, they
return to heaven.
The hosts of evil spirits on earth are very
different from the devil's angels. These on earth have no wings. They
can walk and run quickly. They can move freely but apparently do not
leave the earth. They vary in size from a few inches to three meters
in height. They wear brightly colored clothes with many stripes and
have handsome caps of various shapes and colors. Some, on the other
hand, wear rags or dirty clothes.
Some of these demons on
earth have very little power and are of a fairly harmless nature.
Others, however, are large in stature, fierce in appearance, and have
great power. Those on earth oppose righteous people and the work of
angels among men. In one of their conflicts with an angel, earthly
demons of the highest order, assisted by others of the lower order,
gathered together and attempted to strike the angel with clubs,
swords, and other weapons. By faith and by praising the Lord, the
angel was able to withstand this powerful assault so that he was
neither struck nor even touched by the evil one. The demons of lesser
power, who stood watching the conflict from a distance and saw the
unsuccessful attacks of their companions, implored the evil powers in
the heavens to send a force of angels from the air. In answer to this
prayer, ten angels were sent down. As these approached the earth, the
demons clapped their hands in joyful welcome. When the evil angels
from above reached the scene of the conflict, these less powerful
demons withdrew and stood respectfully and silently in the presence
of the satanic delegation from above, who now took over the conflict
with the angel. These forces the angel could also resist with prayers
and faith until suddenly the glory of God descended and chased away
all the evil hosts.
The boy who saw a Christian man die also
saw:
What happens when an unsaved man dies.
When a
man died who had not heard the gospel, his soul, after being released
from his body, wandered unhindered from place to place on earth until
one of the devil's angels came down from heaven, bound him with
chains, and forced him down to hell.
The death of a professing
Christian who had known the Lord but had not sincerely repented was
even more terrible. When this man was dying, the demons awaited with
devilish delight at his deathbed the deliverance of the soul of this
hypocritical man, once a professing Christian. The demons began to
bind him before he had left his body, and completed the binding of
their prisoner the moment he drew his last wicked breath. The
hypocrite was not allowed to enjoy a moment of walking the earth in
freedom. An object of ridicule to his demonic captors, he was
instantly dragged down to hell with horror.
It was a special
sport among the demons to bind such a wicked man in chains, drag him
about on the ground, snatch him up, and then strike him down again
and again, and drag him like a dead dog. After this pleasure for his
captor, the man was dragged down the dark road to the devilish
regions.
There was:
A Boy dragged from Adullam to
Hell
Because of his bad behavior, he was dismissed as an
errand boy by an officer in the army. After seeing him begging in the
streets for several days, we took him to the Adullam asylum. He
promised to reform, appeared outwardly decent, heard the gospel for a
long time, and felt remorse.
Then various things disappeared
from the asylum, but the thief was not found until this boy was
caught trying to sell the stolen goods. We then removed him from the
asylum. After several months of begging, when this boy repeatedly
promised to reform if we would allow him to return, we gave him
another chance. The Lord also gave him another chance, for there were
clear signs of the Holy Spirit and supernatural revelations
sufficient to convince the simplest man. The boy himself received
anointings from the Holy Spirit, for the Lord confronted him directly
about his sins and showed him the right path. Despite this, the boy
ran away and joined a street gang of beggar thieves. A few months
later he fell and broke his arm. It became infected and he was dying
when he was taken to the hospital. In the hospital he was so
hopelessly disobedient that he was thrown out and was soon in a dying
state on the street. He then came to us with promises of reform, and
we took pity on him and took him in once more.
Day by day he
drew nearer to his end. The night before he died I was awakened by
horrible shrill screams that sounded like the eerie howls of some
wild animal or something diabolical. The next day when the boy died I
was not at home. As he lay dying in excruciating pain, delighted and
hideously diabolical demons gathered around him. As the soul left the
body, the boy saw his captors, cried, howled, screamed, and called
out as loud as he could in the wildest terror, "Mr. Baker, help!
help! help! Oh, Mr. Baker come quickly! Mr. Baker, Mr. Baker, Mr.
Baker! Help, they are all around me with chains! They have come to
me. Help, help, Mr. Baker, help! Oh, oh, oh, help! help! They are
binding me with chains. Help! help! Oh, oh, oh, help!

Visions of Hell
Repeatedly, children have had
visions of hell and the burning lake of fire. The first time someone
was in the anointing of the Spirit, they usually had a vision of
hell. They were bound with chains and led through areas of darkness.
Some children could hear demons all around them in this area. If they
were taken far away, they could see a faint light in the distance,
which was a reflection of the burning lake of fire. Some children
were taken so close that they could see the burning lake of fire
before them. All the time they spoke of the blood of Christ and
claimed that they would not obey and become slaves to their captors.
They truly believed that Jesus would save them. We have already told
how the Lord intervened with His blood-bought salvation before they
reached the burning lake of fire.
The Bible shows that hell is
a place of darkness, and it teaches that some of the devil’s
angels are now kept in chains of darkness awaiting judgment.
The
children saw not only darkness in hell, but also:
The
burning lake of fire
which was always approached through a
region of subterranean darkness. In the vision they were taken to the
edge of a great lake of fire in a semi-dark pit from which clouds of
smoke rose. As the smoke subsided, the fire in the lake became
diffuse, but as the smoke rose slightly, the burning lake of red and
green flames and its inhabitants were clearly visible.
As the
children gazed down into the den of hell, we saw them holding on to
some piece of furniture or getting down on their hands and knees,
leaning cautiously forward to peer down into the hellish regions.
They looked for a moment and then drew back, afraid of falling in.
They were horrified by what they saw. Then they looked cautiously
again and drew back. Sometimes the children lay on their bellies for
fear of slipping and falling in as they looked over the edge to the
lake of fire.
The lost were seen entering hell. Some fell in,
some went over the edge, and some were bound with chains and thrown
into hell by demons. One boy saw groups of wicked people bound in
bundles ready to be thrown into this fiery furnace.
As the
fire subsided and the smoke cleared, wails were heard from the
unfortunate. As the fire periodically increased in intensity and the
smoke rose slightly, screams and wails of agony were heard.
A
person rolled around on the floor, screaming as a suffering soul
would have done in hell.
In the lake of fire there was a sea
of hands reaching out for help. Those down there
pleaded for help from those looking down on them. We could hear the
children speaking to them just as one hears someone talking on the
telephone, that is, hearing the conversation only at one end. It
might sound like this: "I can't help you." "No, I
can't do anything for you." "When you were alive, you
didn't obey the gospel." "No, it's already too late. Before
you came here, I preached to you, but you made fun of me and despised
Jesus. Now you know that I spoke the truth." "No, I can't
do anything. This is a judgment from God." "If you had
obeyed, you would now be rejoicing with us in heaven." After
such a conversation, the children were taken to heaven to rejoice in
the fellowship of Jesus or taken to the glory of the golden streets
in God's paradise.
